Karls Concept

A short description of the NBS project

Karls Concept is an agency that deals with some topics as renaturation in urban areas, progressive digitization, innovation management at all levels and classic spatial planning with the aim of stringent communication management. One of their projects is situated directly in the city center at Karlssquare. The first urban common garden beeds were already planted in 2009. Meanwhile maore than 70 urban gardens are in operation. The City of Wien provided 2000sqm for urban gardening in 2014. Planning and implementation are done by a team of the non-profit organization KarlsGarten. With the garden and a comprehensive supporting program, the association Karlsgarten wants to promote the knowledge of agricultural crop cultivation in the city. Many different kinds of fruits and vegetables organically grow there. In addition seasonal events complete the offer. Karls Garden makes the barely used area to a valuable enrichment for all neighbours as a special green and recreational area.
