A short description of the NBS project

The focus of this exploratory study was on the cooperative development of a livable and green city area around Waagner-Biro in Graz. Special attention was paid to landscaping and open areas and the potential for façades, roofs, and sealed surfaces. This interdisciplinary process was conducted under consideration of seasonal, spatial, technical, economic, social and societal, and philosophical concerns, concentrating on existing spaces and buildings as well as construction projects and spaces that are planned for the future The overarching goal of this research project was the establishment of a specific testbed/lab zone to explore new approaches for living green infrastructure development in the Waagner-Biro district.
